Tutorial colored pencils - 1

Hello everybody, I'm just using deviant art to post this! if you want to see my art como to my ig at @sailorhopee

First I start with a colored paper like middle tone (beige or gray) to have an inicial tone to work with.
Now to start explaning the image:
1 - I start with the black on the darkest spots.
2/3/4 - Then I start adding lightest shades to complement the back. The image had all these tones, but if its a more simple one you can add the black and then browns and warm colors to give light to the skin.
5 - Now with more light and natural tones blend everything together for it to look more realistic. (If the picture is almost all light skin you can give white shades under the skin tone for it to look more light and soft.
6 - Do the same for the eye, first start with the black and then the greys to reach the white of the eye.
